Jarrod Carland – Creative Director with Diverse Background



Jarrod Carland is a passionate and highly-dedicated professional, who is having a special interest in arts. He is from Australia and has worked in numerable cities across the globe, which includes Sydney, London and New York. Pertaining to his studies, he moved to Perth and completed his graduation with a bachelors of arts in musical theatre from Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts- A department of Edith Cowen University, in 2000.


Currently, he is living in Melbourne and running Studio Jack- A graphic design studio embracing love of the arts and bringing together a team of talented designers from every visual medium. He founded this studio while creating pioneering visual imagery and developed unique visual marketing strategies and campaigns for major art and culture programs in Sydney and Melbourne and also in other major cities throughout the country.

During the beginning of his professional career, Jarrod Carland performed on stage in musical productions and had major roles on several productions like Grease, The Phantom of the Opera and Cats in London. In addition to this, he performed on London’s Royal Albert Halls’ productions of Show Boat in 2006. Later on, he moved to New York and worked on Broadway productions. Here, he worked as an assistant to Mel Brooks and made the most notable productions- The New Mel Brooks Musical: Young Frankenstein. Some of his other productions include The Producers and Hairspray.


Afterwards, he came back to Australia and became the assistant producer of Andrea Bocelli in concert and toured cities across Australia and New Zealand. On his two-year tour around cities like Auckland, Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, he produced Avenue Q Australia. It was a critical success and was nominated for 8 awards in 2010, which also included Best Musial. It won 5 awards namely Best Director, Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor in the musical category.
